What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness, also referred to as “vipassana”, is a concept of being self-aware of your surroundings. It was primarily adapted from Buddhist tradition of mindfulness meditations. This concept involves being aware and observant of the things and experiences that happens to you presently, without judging it at any means.

Apparently, we are presently living at an era where everything is fast-forward and short-cut. In all the things that we do, whether it is at work, at home, or at any place else, we tend to have a mentality that doing things fast also means that we are efficient. But that is not likely the case.

Ever wonder why you seemed so pressured, stressed, or depressed? Or why you seem so tired or anxious all of a sudden? Well that is probably the consequence of taking things at a rate where you unconsciously overwhelm yourself.

Mindfulness meditations were used eons ago as treatment for stress, depression, exhaustion, and mood issues. It has been proven through several studies that it improves mood and stabilizes health. This concept has also been known to have cured a wide range of illnesses, mild or serious.

Generally mindfulness meditation means that you should not cling to the past and get yourself too attached to what seemed to have brought you pain. Instead, you practice the state of being aware that you are at the present. You accept the past and understand that it is just a normal part of life. While making yourself aware of your surroundings, you maintain not being judgemental to whatever that is happening around you. By doing this, you’ll be able to release yourself from stress, depression, or anything that has been causing you pain and anxiety. You’ll be able to have a clear mind on things and evaluate matters without being bias.
